Today we remember Blair Peach - a teacher, trade unionist and anti-racist. Blair Peach was killed by a police officer while protesting against the fascist National Front. We must continue the fight against the far right and remember him. Let’s stand against division, for unity:

At the weekend I was very pleased to be attend the Scottish Conference of NASUWT. I was honoured to address the conference and to listen to important debates about the challenges facing teachers in Scotland.

While we are told that there is no money to fund a pay rise for teachers, the education secretary turns a blind eye to the tens of millions of pounds being made at the expense of SEND pupils and SEND teachers. We are telling the government - they must put pupils before profit.
