On my visit to Jebel Ladu, I saw firsthand how crucial healthy livestock is for rural families' food security and nutrition as well as public health. Investing in animal health is cost-effective & crucial for preventing zoonotic diseases. Food and Agriculture Organization & partners support pastoralists.
Honored to have attended the Food and Agriculture Organization inauguration of the Aggregation Centre at the agricultural exhibition in Wulu County. Key market linkages in agrifood systems via innovative strategies are essential for driving profitability & household resilience within their own communities.
In Cameroon, Food and Agriculture Organization and EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid 🇪🇺 aided flood-affected populations in Logone Birni by building an 8-km dyke, distributing seeds and animal feed, and setting up a disaster preparedness commission. Vulnerable households also received cash transfers, enhancing food security.
