This morning, I joined volunteers at Crandon Park for World Sea Turtle Day beach clean-up hosted by Miami-Dade County Parks! 🐢 💚 All year round, we can help keep nesting habitats safe & protect sea turtles by keeping our beaches clean.

This morning I received a beautiful piece of artwork created by the students at the Miami Lighthouse. This artwork will be in my office to remind us of the incredible talent that resides in #OurCounty and our commitment to uplift and support people of all capacities countywide.

Today’s Supreme Court decision takes a wrecking ball to the bedrock value that if you are born in the United States, you are by birth a citizen. The ruling strikes at the heart of our American values and democratic ideals & creates dangerous uncertainty for so many. My statement:

Today’s ruling blocking the decision to end TPS for Haitians is a vital victory for thousands of our neighbors in Miami-Dade and across the country. Congress must urgently create a pathway to permanent status for all those who have fled instability to build their lives here.

Today, we honored the life and legacy of Lucy Fernandez by celebrating the signing of Lucy’s Law which will increase safety in the water and boating regulations. I want to thank the Lucy Fernandez Foundation & State Rep. Vicki Lopez for their relentless advocacy.

Today, Congress approved one of the most damaging pieces of legislation in our country’s history—a bill that will devastate millions of families across the country including in Miami-Dade by gutting programs so many rely on, and saddling future generations with trillions in debt.
