Daily reports of revengeful violent incidents in Syria. But, there is an exceptional awareness amongst local communities re the absolute necessity of social cohesion. Civic actors are facing sectarian campaigns on social media by holding to their reclaimed spaces on the ground.

🧵1. During a state crackdown on Assad regime remnants in Homs' countryside, 22 civilians were killed, holy symbols were desecrated, with widespread theft. The violations have sparked outrage among residents demanding justice, while HTS officials attempt to reassure them.

11. Those shedding light on these severe violations are facing a lot of pushback, with claims that such reports will only fuel sectarian conflict. However, the reality is that if these events are not reported, the victims will feel unrepresented, which is simply unacceptable.

Syrians found out about appointing their *new President* through leaked telegrams—no speech, no statement, just text messages from the People’s Palace… where *the people* were notably absent.

Well. this is very surreal. But since we’re gathering indicators about the transitional period from pieces of interviews, I hope it would be a difficult interview to discuss real politics unlike Jeremy Bowen’s condescending BBC interview
