Linfield v Shelbourne second leg preview. 60 miles down the road from Portrush, Shels have their own major opportunity and the conditions won't be a problem. This will be a test of their mental fortitude. independent.ie/sport/soccer/l…

Linfield v Shelbourne video preview from Windsor Park last night. Beware the golf analogies. youtube.com/watch?v=EWHTNc…

One change for Shels. Tyreke Wilson in for James Norris. David Healy reckoned Sean Gannon would play (most of media did too after he was put up for presser) but Joey O'Brien happy to go with last week's back three. Linfield haven't made changes in attack but Chris Shields is in

Windsor Park. 1,300 or so Shels fans have made the trip north and they’ve been given plenty of space. Expect a few chants to be fired back and forth across the evening but this tie hasn’t really been about the political aspect with the football implications so huge

Huge huge let off for Shelbourne. Dreadful error from Conor Kearns who passes the ball straight to Matthew Fitzpatrick who chips over Kearns but wide of the post.

1-0 Shelbourne! Harry Wood shot cleared off the line by Chris Shields but in the next passage of play, Ali Coote fires home a right footer. Was just about to say that Coote's decision making had been questionable early on...

Had a few queries about this...BBC iPlayer or there's a stream option on Solidsport but not on TV anywhere. Great production last week but leaves anyone wanting to see the outcome in suspense...

Mark Coyle off with injury and now Conor Kearns is gone. Lorcan Healy coming in. Not the scenario Shels would have envisaged at the half hour mark.

VAR rules out a Shels goal. Looked like a brilliant short corner routine that ends with Kerr McInroy goal and it's given in any LOI ground but replays show Paddy Barrett grabbing hold of a Linfield jersey. Shels have used up that routine now.

HT Linfield 1 Shels 1 and it's game on. Shels in control for spells and could have been more clinical. Linfield's best chances have come from Shels errors and there are moments where they've looked nervy. This is new for a lot of them.

First action of the second half is Lorcan Healy doing same as Kearns by firing the ball straight to the feet of a Linfield player. Another escape. Shels are doing plenty to give Linfield encouragement here.

Red card Linfield. The mistake under no pressure comes from the other side. Orr's pass intercepted by Mipo and he draws a professional foul from Hall. Linfield down to 10. Shels have been in control the last 10-15 mins and it's all in their hands now.

Shels were in control before the red card and completely bossing it now. Still wasteful in the final third. Sean Boyd on the way.

FT and Shelbourne go through. 1-1 on the night, 2-1 on aggregate but they were much the better team over 180 mins. Lunney and McInroy excellent in both legs. €1.71m in the bank now. They play Qarabag next and guaranteed three more Euro ties (with one win needed for groups).

Live piece from Windsor Park. There were errors and injuries, missed chances and controversies but the full-time whistle washed away all the anxious Shelbourne emotions and replaced them with euphoria independent.ie/sport/soccer/d…

If Shelbourne lose to Qarabag, they will play the losing team in another champions path tie in what could prove to be their biggest game - it would be Europa League QR3 but winners guaranteed Conference groups. Rovers won this round in 2022 and 2024. Mixed bag of options
