I β€οΈ using these SyllaSense pictureless books with our Gr 7/8 buddies. Each week the K student reads book to their buddy, they spend 5 minutes on illustrations, then big buddy reads other chosen books aloud (dialogic reading). After 3-4 sessions they take home to read to family.
We have been so fortunate to have Hannah Beach partner with some of our Student Success Elementary K-1 educators. There were so many AH-HA moments about play, building relationships and caring leadership! This infographic is only some of the π‘ moments!

Vocab/writing tip from margaret mckeown: Donβt ask kids to write a sentence with a new vocabulary word - they can fake it! E.g., does βI feel cozyβ show understanding? Instead try having them complete a sentence stem: βMy cat looks cozy whenβ¦β which requires more thinking!
