A2. Pitching virtually is quite different than in person. Trying your best to not read a script on your computer is going to make your pitch sound much more natural and the audience won't see your eyes moving back and forth while you are reading. :) #startupchats

A3. If its a competition look at the judging criteria to make sure you have all the elements included in your pitch. After that, know that it is okay to leave the judges with some questions. Peak their interest in your pitch so that you get some slam dunk Q&As #startupchats

A4. You don't have to fit everything in... think through the key themes that you want to communicate and focus your pitch on those themes. Double check you are communicating your themes effectively by pitching to family/friends and asking them "what did they hear". #startupchats

A5. I like to start and end with what I call "relatability bias", it is a fact, question, stat that relates to as many people in the audience as possible. I say it in two different ways at the beginning and the end of the pitch to bring the story full circle. #startupchats

A6. For science-based companies especially, it is focusing too much on the science and not enough on the business. Know your audience and no matter who it is try to avoid jargon & technical talk. Think what you would say if you were pitching to a 10 year old. #startupchats
