As announced by Hon Dr Megan Woods today, with new govt funding we're building up our Aerospace Centre - critical infrastructure for the aerospace industry in Aotearoa to grow, with more than 1,300 jobs and over $2b in economic benefits predicted over the next 10 years.

Incredibly strong letter from the PCE to a new Minister. This govt needs to defend its decision to overturn our decision to end oil and gas exploration and not resort to twisting and misrepresenting the words of an officer of Parliament pce.parliament.nz/media/11bhjajy…

the Min of Finance has admitted her “climate dividend” is just funding for tax cuts, doesn’t meet criteria of climate dividends, & she doesn’t even understand simple quests like whether it will scale with carbon prices. can she just drop the joke of calling it a climate dividend?

Really interested to hear Christopher Bishop tell reporters that he'd been talking with environment sector ahead of the #fastrack proposed legislation. As CE of NZ's largest & longest serving ENGO, we weren't consulted. We got a letter & 12 days to respond & a cancelled meeting tho 🙅‍♀️

After months and months of gaslighting NZ’s debt level, the Minister of Finance has finally confirmed they will be borrowing more. They wouldn’t need to borrow more if they hadn’t promised tax cuts.

1news.co.nz/2024/04/11/the… A leading economist says the Government is "being cute" about saying it is not borrowing for tax cuts, while another agrees, saying "it's not hard maths to work out".

So far I’ve counted more than $3b worth of cuts to climate initiatives in the budget - not only no new initiatives in their budget but a slashing of programmes that would have saved kiwis money and cut our emissions labour.org.nz/nationals_clim…

We just handed our petition to Parliament calling on this Govt to release the list of hugely damaging projects they plan to rubber stamp under the Fast-track Approvals Bill. These projects could have huge implications for communities and nature. 1/4

There was a full house & not enough chairs in chch last night when I joined a panel discussion with Rachel Brooking (she/her) & Megan Woods Generation Zero on the anti democratic & action nature Fast Track Bill. People are horrified about the government's #waronnature & our very identity. 1/2

If Christopher Luxon had any standards for his ministers Andrew Bayley would have been sacked for his contempt towards working people. But we already know he has no standards given his lack of action on Costello, McKee, Jones, Peters, Seymour…

Chris Hipkins (@chrishipkins) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The Prime Minister’s evasiveness about whether Andrew Bayly was drinking between his 3 interactions with the worker he called a “loser” and told to “f-off” suggests the PM either didn’t investigate the complaint properly or he knows the answer & knows it will make things worse.
