10/14 In the next couple years, we'll see a flip to non-export systems in CA. It's sad – a waste of capacity and opportunity. Undersized systems with idle batteries, when they could be strengthening the grid if properly incentivized.

The Economist on exponential #solar growth 📈: "The next ten-fold increase [in solar] will be equivalent to multiplying the world’s entire fleet of nuclear reactors by eight in less than the time it typically takes to build just a single one of them"🤯economist.com/leaders/2024/0…

RIP ROFR “I found it noteworthy that the court did not find credible the utilities’ arguments that the anti-competition law bolsters reliability,” Peskoe said. “It’s always the utility industry’s opening and closing argument when it seeks to stifle competition.” Ari Peskoe

California regulators have used the 'cost shift' argument to slash the value of rooftop solar. But a new study finds that a state agency's $8.5B cost-shift calculation for 2024 is WAY off. In fact, rooftop solar actually saved Californians $2.3B this year: canarymedia.com/articles/solar…

Great piece by pv magazine USA. Rooftop solar saves everyone money and offers consumers real relief from rising energy costs. Let's put rooftop solar and storage back in the hands of hard-working California families and rebuild lost jobs. pv-magazine-usa.com/2024/11/15/cal…

Texas has installed more solar in the last eight months than 39 states have *ever* installed. Texas installed over a gigawatt of solar + storage each *month* this year and that has lowered the probability of winter outages. #txenergy #txlege #energytwitter

There's a new solar record in ERCOT. A few minutes ago, solar exceeded 25,000 megawatts of production for the first time, equaling 52% of demand. Emission free sources (wind, solar, and nuclear) are producing about 75% of power demand today.
