Important to keep the conversation on Adult Social Care alive, that we act now to ensure people get the support they need, and to ensure the latest review adds to reform, not delaying it. ADASS

Yet another commission on social care. Awful for those who continue to suffer after decades of failure. This govt abandoned consensus on reform on cost grounds. Will HMT allow review to consider how to pay for change? History suggests not. Me in The Times and The Sunday Times thetimes.com/business-money…

Just arrived and looking forward to this, not just considering how social care reform can succeed but what we can learn from other countries about the shift from hospital to home. For social care, seeing this as part of social fabric is important international learning for me.

Given our challenges, as a sector we work hard to put social care in the control of people and do what we can to enable social care to support a good life. More to do as this suggests but encouraging given where we are.

Our latest ADASS survey is telling us that Directors are losing confidence in their ability to manage both our duties for care and Council duties to manage the money.

Looking forward to setting the scene this morning to ask conference to work with us and people who draw upon care and support to build responsible partnerships so we can enrich lives with digital and TEC. Great opportunity, barriers to overcome. ADASS

Followed Tanni Grey-Thompson and our Care Minister Stephen Kinnock to set the scene for the conversation at #ITEC2025. Responsible relationships, with people at the heart, is the only way we can maximize the digital and technology opportunities to support and enrich lives.ADASS
