I didn't get accepted to TAKE AP Biology in high school. The rejection stung, but Intro Bio w/ Mike Wade at Indiana University was an incredible experience & it inspired me to pursue a PhD in Biology. I often wonder what would have been if I'd taken AP Bio & tested out of that class.

List of my greatest science achievements 5. submitting a federal grant proposal 4. extracting RNA from Tigriopus copepods (on attempt 5 million) 3. defending my dissertation 2. interviewing on campus for a TT R1 job 1. getting this good girl into the Dog Aging Project! #potatolife

Hi UC Merced IT! Checking in to ask when the MERCED cluster maintenance will be complete. What is the best way to get updates on the server's status? Cheers!

A group of #womeninSTEM from Spain, we have written a letter to the editor of Nature Communications about the AlShebli paper, which claims being mentored by women hurts young scientists' careers. Due to inappropriate analysis and erroneous and damaging conclusions, we request retraction

This is a great piece. Thanks to Emily Alford for writing about this! jezebel.com/women-scientis… via @jezebel
