If SEPTA is such a ‘bad investment’ for rural Republicans- can the Southeast keep the taxes we bring into the Commonwealth here in our neck of the woods? We fund pretty much everything in the middle of the state from our tax base.

Since I was elected, my Republican colleagues spew how they are repulsed by “SEPA’s spending.” I just circulated a memo that would ensure that each region in PA funds its own schools,transit and police using their own resources. See below the proposed (not final) regions ⬇️

That is why I proposed a long term solution for our SEPTA funding crisis. It is time SEPA uses our own taxpayer base to support our schools, police and SEPTA. And the rural areas can support their own police and schools. SEPTA ISEPTAPHILLY

For the first time in my life I've just called my representative in the state legislature to ask him to support a bill, and it's this bill. I feel so civically engaged right now :D

For the past seven years I have listened to my Honorable Republican colleagues. They made it clear that they don’t like spending money in SEPA. Today, I proposed a solution: tax dollars collected by a region, stay in that region.

I love smooth roads and abundant, on-time public transportation. Here in the Philly region, we have the resources to make both a reality. My legislation will make that happen!
