I wrote about the Zip Code Shift — many Americans now live roughly twice as far from their offices as they did prepandemic. This is being driven by white collar workers who make more than $100,000 and are leaving city centers in search of more space. nyti.ms/48DOi4C

Americans are moving away from the office. Employees hired in 2023 now live 35 miles from office, up from 10 miles in 2019. So firms now are hiring in a much bigger area. Which is why RTOs are now so hard - folks don't live near the office anymore. bit.ly/4a2LOxL
