Year 2 loved their bug hunt yesterday! We found lots of interesting insects ready to move into our bug hotel!

In Reception with Miss Wright, we have been learning about doubles and numbers larger than 20. We have really enjoyed using the Numicon and rekenreks.

Reception children have enjoyed developing their finger & arm strength in the play dough kitchen. We are so proud of their collaborative problem solving skills, kind sharing & the impact on their fine motor skills with such beautiful letters & pencil control in writing books!

This week, Year 6 have been working very hard, engaging in revision activities in preparation for SATs. After looking at SPaG this week, we realised we needed a refresher on ‘word classes’. We recapped the definitions and completed a quiz before matching up the words 😄💭⭐️

Year 2 had a special visitor today to discuss life in WW2 and life after VE Day! We learned about rationing, evacuation and tried on some of the equipment! #VEDay80

Reception Mastering Number workshop - the children loved sharing their learning & showed off their Rekenrek skills beautifully followed by making our own mini version with beads. We are so proud of their progress & their maths confidence! ⭐️ Thank you to all who attended! NCETM

Reception enjoyed learning all about what it was like to be a child in World War II and why we learn about VE Day. We especially enjoyed exploring all the artefacts and trying on the very heavy helmets!

In Nursery we have been exploring the story, ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. On Friday we had a gorgeous teddy bears picnic and today we completed a science experiment using ‘hot’ and ‘cold’ porridge! 🐻

Just like that, SATs are over ❗️ I am so proud of Y6, they’ve worked so hard and been great role models this week. Here is a little snippet of our special breakfast club and if I do say so myself, my very impressive buffet breakfast skills (Miss Heaton). ⭐️ 😄 🌈

What a day! We’ve had movies, snacks, ice pops, a water fight which consisted of only soaking Mr Woods and move over Miss Heaton’s buffet and say hello to Miss Heaton’s ice cream stand! 🍿🍬🎞️💦🍦🍫 I am so proud of them for their efforts this week!

Really useful session this morning for Y6 delivered by the RNLI. We discussed lots of information surrounding staying safe at the beach and in water. Here is a useful leaflet of information should you wish to discuss anything further with your children 😁

Reception have been exploring a poem that uses the 5 senses to describe summer. We worked as a class to generate our own ideas for a poem. We then used the 5 senses to draw and write our own individual ideas for our poems too! We are so proud of our super writers! Talk for Writing

Year 5 enjoyed creating self portraits in the style of our focus artist, Amedeo Modigliani! His artwork is unique as he focused on elongating faces and necks within his portraits! 🖼️ 🎨

This morning our Nursery children had a gorgeous time in PE developing their gross motor skills. 😊⭐️

Reception helped to create an ocean tray with natural materials, different textures & photos of sea creatures to explore. With both maths & writing opportunities children are leading their own learning. This group used the clipboards to draw & label things they found on the tray!

Year 2 have been little librarians during their morning work today, writing book recommendations for their favourite books to share across school!
