Knights used 5 different pitchers last night. Christian Mundt another quality start (4 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 6 K). Nathan Stooksbury scoreless IP in his Knights debut. Baxter Heino faced 1 batter, got him to pop out to strand 3 inherited runners. Caden Carsen 1-2-3 IP, 2 K.

Knights scattered 8 hits. Doubles from Maxwell Israel, jack_hubs12 and Wyatt Miller. 2022 luis arraez PH single. Brian Knight (1-for-3, BB) w/two highlight reel defensive plays at 1B. Climbed the fence to catch a foul pop w/bases loaded. Diving stop on ball ticketed for the RF corner.

Happy Fourth of July everyone! Here's some fireworks courtesy of Brock larsen, who hit a 419-foot grand slam the other day.

Knights pitchers delivered another strong performance last night, allowing 2 ER or fewer for the 6th time in the last 8 games (and 8th in the last 12). Sawyer Anderson 4 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 5 K Gavin Dahl 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K Baxter Heino 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 0 K

Offensively, the Knights scattered 9 hits and had scoring opportunities in almost every inning, but couldn't come up with the big hit with RISP. Maxwell Israel (2-for-3, BB) and Jackson Israel (2-for-4) led the offense. Davon Castro (1-for-3) with his first Knights hit.

Special day today as the Knights honor our former player/manager FM before today's 1:00 pm game at Polar Lakes. League game vs Minneapolis North Stars of Bloomington, followed by a friendly with the Crystal Cowboys 🇺🇸. Food at 3:00. All are welcome to attend.

Knights pick up a pair of wins this afternoon, 4-3 and 5-3. Both were tight, fast-paced ballgames. Good pitching was the story today, as Tomás Palomarez and Sawyer Anderson each went the distance for CG Wins.

Knights jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in Game 1. Jackson Israel (2-for-2, BB, 2 SB) and Ryan Jeffrey (1-for-3, 2 RBI) with 1st inning hits. Minneapolis North Stars of Bloomington plated a run in the 3rd to make it 2-1. Luke Simpson tripled home Israel, scored on a FC for a 4-1 lead after 5.

Knights starting pitcher Tomás Palomarez was nothing short of terrific. CG, 7 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 12 K Tomás carried a 2-hitter into the final frame. 101 total pitches, 71 strikes. And of those, 24 were swinging strikes for an incredible 46% whiff rate.

Knights dinked and dunked our way to victory in Game 2. Crystal Cowboys 🇺🇸 came out hot with 3 hits in the 1st inning to take a 1-0 lead. Knights responded with 4 runs in the bottom half courtesy of some well-placed singles, aggressive baserunning, an error, and a balk.

Cowboys got 1 run back in the 2nd and another in the 5th to make it a 4-3 game. Knights had multiple RISP in the 2nd, 4th, and 5th innings but couldn't come up with the big hit. Wyatt Gavin with a clutch 2-out RBI single in the 6th gave the Knights a much-needed insurance run.

Game 2 starter Sawyer Anderson turned in his third consecutive quality start. CG, 7 IP, 9 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 K Sawyer pounded the zone. 95 pitches, 65 strikes. Also chipped in a single with the bat.

Today's top offensive performers: Jackson Israel 4-for-6, 2B, BB, 2 SB Luke Simpson 4-for-7, 3B, RBI, SB Ryan Jeffrey 2-for-5, 2 RBI, BB parker huebsch 2-for-6, SB Tapio notched his first Knights hit. John Pietruszewski (1-for-2, 2B, BB) is heating up at the plate.

Things we learned today... Tomás Palomarez plays a mean first base. Catchers can steal bases. Pitchers are athletes too. Scott Shield comes out of retirement to help out, logs himself an OF assist. Ten pizzas and 100 wings is exactly the right amount of food to feed 2 teams.

After 4 straight extra inning games with Stockmen's Irish, the Knights decide to play just 5 tonight. 12-rip Irish. Back in action Wednesday night Osceola Braves.
