Thank you to FIU for hosting their annual disaster field exercise. This hands-on training gives students the opportunity to work through real-world scenarios, offering medical aid, assessing damage and coordinating logistics as part of a collaborative response effort.

The Florida Marine Turtle Protection Act makes it illegal to handle or disturb a sea turtle, its hatchlings, nest or eggs. Violations can include fines and prison time. Please see below for who to contact if you come across a sick, disoriented or injured sea turtle.👇

Always swim near a staffed lifeguard tower, pay attention to the beach warning flags and don’t hesitate to ask a lifeguard if you’re unsure about conditions. Our Ocean Rescue lifeguards are on duty from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Learn more: miamibeachfl.gov/beachconditions.

Congratulations to our 2025 Jr. Fire Academy graduates! Throughout the week, campers learned essential skills including CPR, basic first aid, search and rescue techniques and a deeper understanding of the fire service. We definitely see some future firefighters in the making!

A Flood Watch will be in effect for Miami Beach from 2 p.m. today, Monday, July 14 until 11 p.m. tonight. Municipal parking garages are now open for residents to store their vehicles until Tuesday, July 15 at 8 a.m.
