Working together for a better Accra

On Tuesday, I met with the leadership of Kantamanto Market to discuss how we can enhance services, improve public safety, and make the market more accessible for both traders and customers.

Early in the week, i led a team of revenue collectors from the AMA to the Kantamanto Market in the Central Business District (CBD) as part of a revenue mobilisation & enforcement exercise aimed at increasing compliance & educating traders on the importance of paying market tolls.

Over the week, i officially inaugurated a new Landing Beach Committee to oversee the fair and transparent distribution of premix fuel to fishermen within the coastal communities of the metropolis.

I welcomed organizers of this year's Homowo Peace Cup to my office, ahead of the game scheduled for 17th August. Accra Hearts of Oak and Hearts of Lions will compete for the coveted Cup on Sunday.

Yesterday, I paid a condolence visit to my brother and senior, Hon. Dr. Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South, to commiserate with him and his family on the passing of his beloved mother.

Earlier this week, I engaged school feeding caterers from 20 districts in Greater Accra during an orientation session at Accra Metropolitan Assembly. I reminded them that their work goes beyond food, it impacts the welfare, education, and future of Ghanaian children.

As part of efforts to decongest the city and promote safe trading, I have directed all traders operating along the Korle Bu stretch to relocate into the Korle Bu Lorry Station Market by Wednesday, August 27.
