Thank you, Hayam Hamodat, for sharing your story

Incredibly excited to be joining the genetics family at U of T PGME Temerty Medicine The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) for my residency in Medical Genetics and Genomics! 🧬🤓 #CaRMSMatch #MedGen

ACMG updates recommendations for #secondaryfindings reporting and unveils highly anticipated recommended minimum gene list (SF v3.0) in two important new policy statements just published in Genetics in Medicine. acmg.net/RELEASE_Second… #exomesequencing #genomesequencing #NGS

Incredibly important and timely report on self-managed abortion in Canada from Julianne Stevenson Jennifer Taylor LEAF (Women's Legal Education and Action Fund). Take a look and share!👇🏼 (Full disclosure: Julianne Stevenson is my amazing wife, but that doesn’t make this report any less important).

"Please re-contact us every few years as we may have updates for you" are words commonly stated to genetics patients by their providers. Commentary by Michael Mackley and Dr. Lauren Chad @sickkidsnews explores the equity implications of this approach. nature.com/articles/s4143…

As we refine #recontact practices in clinical genetics the (in)equity implications of a shared model of responsibility must be considered. The current model is falling short--potentially failing those that could need it most. Our thoughts in European Journal of Human Genetics: rdcu.be/c8gId

Are you a final year med student in Canada? Looking for info about joining the best specialty there is (see thread)? 🧬 Register for the #CaRMS Medical Genetics info night! 👇🏼 (I’ll add a plug for the best program in Canada here at Temerty Medicine The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), but I’m biased.)

👇🏼 a thoughtful must-read in The Lancet for all of those involved in genomic medicine, from some of the most thoughtful people involved in genomic medicine

Feeling fortunate to be visiting Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI) 🇦🇺 this month and last, generously hosted by Melbourne Genomics Health Alliance Prof Clara Gaff A/Prof Belinda Dawson (McClaren). Learning all about efforts to transform the delivery of genomic medicine, and excited to take lessons back to The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) Toronto. 🇨🇦

Heading back to 🇨🇦 from Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI) Victorian Clinical Genetics Services (VCGS) with new ideas and new friends! Thank you to everyone who was so generous with their time and ideas, especially A/Prof Belinda Dawson (McClaren), Prof Clara Gaff, and Prof Zornitza Stark. I look forward to many inconveniently timed Zoom calls in the future!

If the population at large is to benefit from advances in genomic medicine, genetics services cannot do this alone. Cross-jurisdictional (🇨🇦🤝🇦🇺) thoughts from friends (A/Prof Belinda Dawson (McClaren), Prof Clara Gaff, Dr. Robin Hayeems' Research Team - GENOMETRICS, Emma Weisz) and me in European Journal of Human Genetics: rdcu.be/d56ne

Excited to share a new publication from @michaelmackley and Dr. Robin Hayeems, outlining a framework to support clinical teams in designing and evaluating genomic mainstreaming efforts. Read the full Genetics in Medicine publication here: gimjournal.org/article/S1098-… #GenomicMainstreaming
