I'm a bit delayed in posting this, but Enthused to say that I successfully defended my dissertation last week at HistMedJHU and am now a PhD in the history of medicine, science, and technology! It's been a hella long 7 years, and I'm both glad and sad it's done 🥹

I am delighted to share that I successfully passed my viva on 4 June. I am grateful to my supervisors Prof. Hannah Brown and Prof. Cherry Leonardi for their unwavering support and guidance. I also had the privilege of being briefly supervised by Professor Nayanika Mookherjee

A shout-out to the wonderful Anell Stacey, Handri Walters, & Simonne Horwitz for our panel at #sahs2024! Thank you to Vincenza Mazzeo for her stellar chairing of our talks that collectively tackled #histmed, #hstm, #ideology, #bodies, #whiteness, #institutions & #masculinity in ZA🔥

Graduation day! Congratulations to Dr Dr Michaela Clark and Dr Leah de Quattro (and to their proud PhD supervisor)

Really enjoyed giving my first ever(!!) conference paper this morning as part of a disability history panel at SSHM (@sshmedicine.bsky.social) #SSHM2024. My paper was based on an article co-authored with @coreen_anne about polio survivors, reading technologies and cognitive diversities.

Excited to announce my new role as research associate (Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin) History of Medicine 🤩 After less than a week I'm happily settling into my new institutional & geographic home 🏛️🌍🎓 Thank you to my lovely colleagues who've already made me feel so welcome ✨

The world's most depicted physician?... might be Johan Jacob Döbelius (1674-1743) #Ramlösa, or do you have other suggestions? A short paper about the former rector Lund University by #firstauthor Marie-Isabelle Schwarzburger doi.org/10.25162/mhj-2…
