Sorry Sadiq Khan. TfL report the bus stops on Westminster Bridge are fully compliant with their guidance. But blind people, the RNIB and Guide Dogs say there design are categorically NOT ACCESSIBLE for blind people. There are many injuries, often unreported.

As a regular London cyclist I always stop at these (terribly designed) crossings, but most don’t. Time they were ripped out.

The pause on floating bus stops by Lord Peter Hendy Simon Lightwood MP is for shared use bus borders as shown in the video, where passengers board & alight the bus directly from & into the cycle lane. This pause needs to be made permanent, along with all types of floating bus stops.

The government’s SoS for transport, Heidi Alexander (she/they), thinks it’s somehow OK to favour un-evidenced notions of cycle safety & getting more people cycling at the expense of bus passengers. Some of whom are blind and can longer catch their bus! This is intolerable Write to your MP.
