Smarty Jones (Elusive Quality—I’ll Get Along, by Smile) bred in Pennsylvania by Someday Farm has been elected to the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame! Owned by Roy and Pat Chapman, Smarty Jones was trained by John C. Servis and ridden exclusively by Stewart Elliott.

Bred in Pennsylvania by Barlar, LLC, Simply Joking is the only Midlantic-bred slated to be in action for the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks on Friday, May 2, at Churchill Downs. Trained by D. Whitworth Beckman, Simply Joking has a record of 3-2-1-0 earnings of $288,000.

The New Jersey-bred Horse of the Year in 2024 for the second consecutive year, grade 1 winner Book'em Danno looks to make it two wins on the bounce in Saturday's Churchill Downs Stakes-G1.

On May 3, 2025, Parx Racing held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil an exhibit dedicated to Smarty Jones. The space includes the Hall of Famer's Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes trophies, along with saddle towels and even more memorabilia.

The racing world’s biggest names gathered this morning, Friday May 16 at Pimlico for morning workouts ahead of today’s Black-Eyed Susan Stakes-G2 and tomorrow’s Preakness Stakes-G1.

Hats off to PA-bred Witty who came flying late to win the $125,000 Jim McKay Turf Sprint. A 6-year-old gelding, Witty was bred by trainer Elizabeth Merryman. Witty was sired by Maryland-based Northview Stallion Station's Great Notion out of the Congrats mare Zeezee Zoomzoom.
