Up up and away! Great to get out to some beautiful tidal inlets last week with all the toys for Madelaine Broadfoot's first #PhD data collection to investigate #estuary water level sensitivity to inlet morphology. Important knowledge for #coastalmanagement during #sealevelrise

A pleasure talking to Robyn Williams on ABC Science Science Show on Saturday about #CoastalErosion, #SeaLevelRise, #CoastalSqueeze, the future of #Newcastle #Beaches & our AQ: Australian Quarterly | @aqjournal.bsky.social article on adaptive #CoastalManagement. Listen on Wednesday at noon or 👉 abc.net.au/radionational/…

Researchers from University of Newcastle + University of Sydney created 3D visualisations of seafloor features around Australia, from a shipwreck to ancient dunes. These could be used to understand the threat of tsunami, or evidence of ancient beaches and dunes. bit.ly/3wmPmJd

Our students are sea-ing science up close with experience working in the field and learning about coastal processes with A/Prof Hannah Power and Mike Kinsela 🌊 📸 Environmental science student Alicia, (Alicia Watt)

It was a tremendous honour to be awarded with Mike Kinsela the inaugural Coastal Achievement Award at the #CoastalSediments2023 conference in New Orleans this week 1/4
