Next, Richard Hannon's race, and of course it had to be for precocious two year olds! Well done to Tom Dascombe and richard kingscote with Italica, improving with every race and showed he can win in a scrap, by edging out First Time. A decent colt, we'll see if he continues to improve.

Next, the most impressive winner of the day, as the hugely improved Nanino Niyati storms away to a five length victory over Bintalina, for Kubler Racing and richard kingscote . Never ran as a two year old, so late developing, but looks to be a very nice filly to progress this summer.

Next, a superb double for Kubler Racing and treble for richard kingscote as Crimson Spirit accelerates well to beat Noel Fox. Consistent last year and a good York third first time out this, it's nice to see him finally hit the top table today. Hope he continues to progress from here.

Finally, the 1m4f handicap goes to Moon Angel, who breaks her maiden tag first time out this season by outstaying Spectacular Style well, for Stuart Williams and Marco Ghiani . First run in her new yard, and looks to have improved from three to four. Imho possibly best at 1m6f?

Made it to Wolverhampton Races in weather conditions bearing no resemblance to a normal night at Dunstall Park! A sweltering evening but some good racing to enjoy as always, at the start of one of the big weeks of the Flat racing season. But here, we're all in shirt sleeves of course!

Another superb evening at Wolverhampton Races despite not being permitted to the start for the two miler! Hopefully a one off. This is the pre parade ring, where the horses sometimes go round between races. Some really nice horses on show tonight, some becoming regulars these days!

Fair play to Frankie Dettori for this. I was looking to retire last year and start a new life, but then after scaling down, realised it wasn't the right thing to do. You only get one shot at life, there's nothing wrong with changes of heart. The issue here is public perception.

Hard to believe this man was doing the sara coxđź’™ show 50 years ago!!

Had i not been at work today, I'd have gone to Thirsk Racecourse . Delighted that they've got the Ascot Tuesday back, the best place for Flat fans to go racing today. Enjoying competitive racing wearing what they want within reason, watching the away action on the big screen. Superb!
