No big changes in the drought monitor since last week. We will make up some ground on rainfall over the next 7 days, so that should help us out a bit here

First Alert Weather Day: Parts of CT are in a level 2 risk for severe weather later. Lightning and strong wind gusts are still the biggest threats, but some storms may produce hail. An isolated tornado somewhere in the region cannot be ruled out either!

We are monitoring some downpours moving to the north and east. These are moving quickly so we do not expect much of an impact. However, expect briefly heavy rain, perhaps a rumble or two of thunder

ON THIS DAY IN WEATHER HISTORY... May 9th is the latest recorded snowfall for the Hartford Area (since 1905) with 1.3" measured in 1977! So, if you still have yet to put the snow gear away, you're certainly safe to do so now

Cool views of the swing bridge over the CT River I’ve never had before. We were exploring the new fishing pier at Eagle Landing park and timed it just right.
