Hacopian’s departure is a massive blow to a Maryland offense that is losing first baseman Hollis Porter to the portal and multiple key contributors to graduation. The rising junior has been projected as high as a potential top-10 pick in the 2026 MLB draft.

Depends how high he goes. He’d be passing up the chance to play both football and baseball at his hometown school. Georgetown Prep’s Austin Weiss is another name to watch. One of the best arms in the area when healthy.
