Good times. Last week I handed in my PhD thesis, and yesterday one of my other projects made the front page of Jyllands-Posten! M Gensowski talks about our paper (w/ Cecilie Marie Løchte Jørgensen, @idalykkekr) on how longer parental leave increases children's socio-emotional skills and well-being.

A new study shows that Danish children’s well-being is improved when their parents take longer parental leave 👉 news.ku.dk/all_news/2023/…

Thrilled to see this happening! We began working on this project towards the end of the first year of my PhD. Last month I handed in my thesis, and now our paper is finally coming out in the AER. Big-up to my brilliant co-authors @ChecchiaRonda @RosholmMichael

Calling all Graduate students! We (Magne and Torgo leading) are hosting a causal inference conference this March--fully funded! Experimentalists--would love to see students interested in controlling the assignment mechanism showcasing their work here. fs2.formsite.com/UChicagoEconom…

🚨New WP🚨 Using admin data and a pop-wide school survey, I estimate precise effects of birth order on academic achievement, personality, and well-being. Earlier-born siblings score higher on all outcomes. Effects are stable across groups and over time. papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf…

politiken.dk/danmark/art967… Godt for ligestilligen at flere fædre tager barsel.

Nice summary in Weekendavisen (in Danish) of one of the main findings of my new working paper: Earlier-born siblings are more conscientious, agreeable, and emotionally stable than their later-born siblings. weekendavisen.dk/2023-51/ideer/…. Link to paper: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf….

Very happy to see this paper published in the EER. Started working on it a few months into the PhD when Cecilie Marie Løchte Jørgensen had the idea and suggested that we should do a project together. Time flies. M Gensowski @idalykkekr
