Today marks 85 years since the end of the Winter War. The Winter War began on 30 Nov 1939, when the Soviet Union attacked Finland without a declaration of war. Finland retained its independence, but it came at a heavy cost. We must never forget these sacrifices.

Today marks the 85th anniversary of the end of unprovoked russian invasion of Finland known as Winter War. 105-day defensive battle of tiny 3,6 million strong Finland against the Soviet Union of 170 million people ended in a defensive victory for Finland.
