Another tale from the intergenerational church. Oh little ones! Your cries were plenty today. The shouts…for food, toys, a parent…reflected the same unspoken cries in our hearts. Thank you. You gave the cries of the people a voice. I’m glad we were church together today.

Pondering Michael Oh’s words Sunday night at the Fourth Lausanne Congress in Seoul. The four most dangerous words in the global church are…I don’t need you.  Do we say this to the children in our churches?  #L4Congress

If concerned with the church in 2050, then our focus must include Gen Alpha. #L4Congress, you’re reflecting the current state of the church where children are often pushed aside. Children are part of Christ’s body and the church now. We need to do better. christiandaily.com/news/lausanne-…

In the American church, we inadvertently open a back door so that children walk out and never come back. We remove children from the larger community and wonder why they leave and don’t come back. They never felt they belonged to the church in the first place. #L4Congress

To engage intergenerationally, we need to have a heart that says “I want to learn from you. I need you. I so much need you in my life.” Are we saying this to the children in our midst? #L4Congress The Center for Faith and Children

Another tale from the intergenerational church. Little one, you were so happy to be blessed today at communion, you ran back for a second blessing. A good reminder of how we should yearn for God's blessings. I’m glad we were in church together today.

Another tale from the intergenerational church. Little one, I saw you intently listening to the sermon today. You tried so hard but you are little. I suspect you didn’t understand everything. That’s okay, neither did I. I am glad we were in church together today.

Another tale from the intergenerational church. Little one, thank you for shouting out the Lord’s Prayer this morning in church. YOUR WILL BE DONE...! FORGIVE US...! LEAD US...! You reflected the cries of God's people. I am glad we were in church together today.

How can we invite our children to worship with us and learn what it means to be the people of God? youtu.be/xQ7jL5JpwDA?si…

Another tale from the intergenerational church. Oh little one, you screamed for your mama during communion today. Thank you for reminding me and physically representing our heart’s cry for our heavenly parent. I am glad we were in church together today.

Another tale from the intergenerational church. Little ones, your cries…multitude of cries …during the prayers today shouted out our feelings. Thank you for reflecting to God the emotions of his people. I am glad we were in church together today.

We should have rooms for adults who feel fussy about children making noise at Mass, rather than rooms for the children. The adults can have a window to see what's happening, or a speaker to hear what's going on.
