The years of Syrian government cluster munition attacks may now be over but threat from their explosive remnants remains. Human Rights Watch The Monitor recorded 100s of instances of use by Syrian government forces. Our first research from mid-2012: hrw.org/news/2012/07/1… Ban Cluster Bombs

Every day, according to the The Monitor, an average of 15 people were killed or injured by #mines and explosive remnants of war in 2023. Our teams are committed to #clearing the land of these deadly remnants and raising awareness about these dangers to prevent such #tragedies.

Protection of civilians under the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention & Convention on Cluster Munitions (Convention on Cluster Munitions) should know no exception. ICRC calls for reinforcing humanitarian norms to safeguard humanity in war, remaining committed to the international rule of law. ⬇️ buff.ly/NZajnu4
