Thinking ahead to Sept as I've been inspired by a colleague of mine to use lever arch flies over exercise books at KS4. Been having a go at some organisational docs that the pupils could use. Quite like the look of them but just wondering if anyone else has opted for folders?

My year 10s have got complete exam prep fatigue with Lang paper 1. Has anyone got a one off lesson (can be completely unrelated to Lang paper 1) just for them to have a refresh and do something different? Team English #TeamEnglish #edutwitter

To anyone who has a kid with exams swiped from under them, please PLEASE remind that learning lasts forever. All their work, all their skills and knowledge, that’s theirs, to keep. Exams are a day and a grade. Don’t let them lose that the LEARNING was what mattered.

Devastated to have it all come to an end so soon but as always, I am continually impressed by the maturity and grace of Wymondham High Academy pupils. Year 11 it’s been a joy. I will miss you all.

Surprise, surprise an English teacher’s favourite book of the year is “Hamnet” but gooooood lord this was such a beautiful read.

Dept is moving towards learning booklets for Sept - I've uploaded a booklet of extracts and a booklet of activities for A Midsummer Night's Dream on Litdrive, pitched for Year 7/8. As always inspiration is taken directly from the ever generous Stuart Pryke and the rest of LitDrive!

Amidst all the confusion and angst, I hope all our students can remember that it has always been about the journey and not just the destination. Trying to squeeze 7 rich years of experience into one grade is a madness. You are not defined by your results. You are enough. 🌻

A horrendous week for students, parents and teachers. And yet what incredible determination and resilience we have seen from students who made sure their voices were heard. There will still be fallout and those who have lost out but the 2020 cohort proves the future looks bright.

Looking to refresh our class texts for Year 8: our themeatic link across the curriculum is hereos/power/protest but happy for any and all suggestions of texts that were high challenge and worked well - thanks all! Team English

Wondering if anyone can help- trying to generate a list of novels linked to the AQA GCSE Lit course (specifically Romeo+Juliet, Macbeth, Power+Conflict & Love+ Relationships). I can think of Hamnet, The Marriage Portrait (both Maggie OFarrell) but would love more! Team English
