When I was campaigning against ID cards in 2006 I noticed those on the left of the Labour Party were very strongly against them. As were LibDems & most Tories. UKIP too. And many people with no political affiliation. Being against ID cards really brings people together.

When I was part of the NO2ID card campaign in 2006 we never got the huge support the current petition is getting! It was quite hard to get people to engage in it. Very heartening to see such huge numbers coming out against it this time so soon after it was announced. Keep going!
