Today, we made sure the message about how trees, and the wildlife relying on them, should be protected. What point is there in having preservation orders that afford no protection? 42 mature trees that provide a wildlife corridor are to be felled for ‘luxury’ high rise flats.

Current & ex students spoke alongside filmmaker Terry Abraham FRGS in Cockermouth today as we protested against the felling of red squirrel habitat to make way for ‘luxury’ flats. ‘Red squirrels have returned to Cockermouth … and are a bio-indicator of how healthy an environment can be.’
