Happy to share our new design of a C1/formaldehyde assimilation pathway out on Nature Communications. Congrats to Tong Wu and all. Thanks to supports from Bar-Even Lab, Philippe Marliere, @SteffenNLindner, and SYBORG! #MetabolicEngineering #SynBio nature.com/articles/s4146…
Our paper on scrambling the human genome is finally out 🍳 ! What a crazy journey this has been with my fantastic collaborator Jonas Koeppel 🎉 Make sure to check out his awesome 🧵 about our technology to create genetic diversity in human cells! 🧬
Our latest work on metabolic engineering using kinetic models and process systems engineering methods is out nature.com/articles/s4146…! Congrats to Bharath (Bharath Narayanan), Daniel (Daniel R. Weilandt, Ph. D. ), Maria, Misko (Ljubisa Miskovic), and @Vassily_13 .

What drives microbiome complexity? Can Shannon's entropic measures explain them? Check our new paper in PNAS led by Santa Fe Institute Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Serguei Saavedra with our theoretical model of microbiome community transitions, from guts to marine ecosystems. pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…
Was fun to pitch our research in 2 minutes for Eye-Openers videos! See for a simple intro (Dutch + English subs) in why and how we developed bacterial cell factories to convert CO2 in products Laboratory of Microbiology at WUR Wageningen U&R, thanks to KNCV support sciencelink.net/media/producte…
Last work from the group out of the press in Nature Communications ! Here we looked at baker yeast 🥐🍺 through the single-cell lenses 🔎🦠 We found out genetically identical subpopulations with different behaviours emerging in response to amino acid identity. nature.com/articles/s4146…
