Excited to share our work SYBORG out today in Nature Catalysis. A new synthetic CO2-fixation cycle, the THETA cycle, is designed, constructed in vitro, and modularly implemented in E. coli. Step by step, we are bringing synthetic CO2 fixation to life. nature.com/articles/s4192…

Great visualization of something terrible, a climate tipping point. This shows how a rainforest can tip into rapid deforestation with longer droughts, as global warming worsens. Similar tipping points can cause changes in ocean currents and ice sheets👇

Enrichment methods find perturbed processes in omics, but can we better account for pathway functions? See our update to metabolic function analysis in CellFie, now with protein secretion (critical to cell-cell interactions). Led by Helen Masson authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S10…

In our new paper at Cell (Cell), we reveal secrets of how the third form of life, archaea, make energy. We uncover new lineages of hydrogen-using enzymes, both minimal and complex. These help archaea thrive in all sorts of extreme environments. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
