OOBLECK!! Can something be both a liquid and a solid? This was our guiding question today as we studied the placement of molecules as a liquid, solid, and gas. We may have had a bit of fun touching this wild substance!!!

This time of year is amazing. It's the time when things can just click for a student, something hard finally becomes easier, their hard work pays off ❤️ students are doing so well at explaining their thinking in math!

We played a fun vocabulary game today. Cards with the alphabet were laid out, and the class was given a theme. Their goal was to name a word for each letter and pull the card away. For one category, we got down to 6 cards left! We will try and beat it tomorrow!

Learning more about probability in math. Today, we made our own spinners. Students had to spin it 30 times to see if their predictions were correct about the odds of landing on certain colours 🎲 🎰🃏

I snuck in a mini lesson about the slinky (although we completed our unit on forces a few weeks ago). How does a slinky work? There are so many forces in action! We also watched an amazing slinky artist named Josh Jacob's and tested our own large slinky!

The Gr2s started little projects on countries around the world. They practiced finding important information in a text to answer questions. Gr3s also read a text to identify and compare jobs/chores that boys, girls, and adults had in the 1800s 🪵 🔥 🧈

Today, we learned all about how plants can be medicine. We learned about jewel weed (for mosquito bites), cat tail leaves, and "garlic mustard." Mme Mundell read us, "Dad, is it time to gather mint?" and we tasted iced mint tea with maple syrup.

Another wonderful day on the Land... learning the story of Strawberry Moon 🍓 🌙 and making a compote to taste! Then, each student made a button about something we learned or they loved doing. We ended our time playing a rock game (ask your child how to play!)
