After the war, the Manhattan Project was one of the first to send teams to assess conditions in Hiroshima & Nagasaki. By Nov. 1945, the estimates were: -Hiroshima: 255,000 inhabitants, 64,500 dead and 72,000 injured -Nagasaki: 195,300 inhabitants, 39,200 dead and 25,000 injured
