New publication on different types of news avoidance with Kim Andersen. See his 🧵 below:

Here Linda van den Heijkant presents our cross-national comparative study on the coverage of the retirement age. Among other things, we find that over time framing shifts from problem focus to solution focus. Nice project with the amazing Morten Skovsgaard

PhD vacancies📢 We have 2 positions in communication science for projects on polarisation of climate change debate and politicisation of science communication. Hans Redder hvad siger I?

After four days of #RunningWithPresidents during #ICA23, I am impressed that Claes de Vreese and Rens Vliegenthart first run to the White House in 2019 survived two online conferences (remote running) and organically grew to a large group of com scientists kicking days off with a run 🏃♀️🏃♂️👏

Last year, Morten Skovsgaard and I published an entry on news avoidance distinguishing between consistent, occasional, and selective news avoidance. Following the embargo period, we are now able to share an open-access version of the entry: findresearcher.sdu.dk/ws/portalfiles…

Today Rasmus W. Schmøkel successfully completed the midterm evaluation of his PhD project aiming to understand to role played by SoMe algorithms for news consumption, which included building the Digital Democracy Centre SoMe platform from scratch and reverse-engineering algorithms #proudsupervisor
