There is a recency bias in education that because something is new it is better than a tool, resource, or teaching method that came before it. I also get that the opposite is true, which is why it’s important you listen to me to figure out which one is right.

Watch a movie from the 70s or 80s that has a school library scene… Every kid reading a book, researching, taking notes…not a computer in site. Looks pretty darn glorious to me.

SPED is the most ineffective, red-tape laden, program in all of education. All while employing some of the hardest working, caring teachers in the field. We must find a way to free these teachers of the paperwork and allow them to work more with students.
