The most potent negative force in the world is a dream deferred or denied. The most potent positive force in the world is the fear of irrelevance.

Anthropic had an LLM running a small vending machine shop. Really fun learnings, though eventually the shop went bankrupt because the model was too nice and was out-haggled for discounts by sharky humans among other things 😅 "On the afternoon of March 31st, Claudius

Dumb take. A few of my erstwhile team members used to work on a project called chauffeur, that eventually became waymo. Back then, most of the criticism would come because waymo cars would make mistakes. Now some think waymo won't work in urban centers because they just don't

Thanks all for the RSVPs. We've got a full crowd w/ folks from deepmind, xAI, thinking machines, openAI, anthropic & more. Unf we aren't able to take in more folks without a deep research background - we'll host a more broad-themed event soon for those in SWE/product/GTM

Crazy. Ask any socialist if they could pick a world with more socialists and their kids would be one of them, or more billionaires and their kids would be one of them, 100% will pick the latter.

Recommended read. What China is going through is what europe went through during the Renaissance. Cultural, technological, ideological & political overhaul. The world changed forever post renaissance & same is happening w/ China rising, except it'll happen in decades, not

A fantastic evening with top AI researchers of Indian origin in bay area (with a few adopted Indians in the mix 🤣). An amazing crowd from openai, thinking machines, deepmind, anthropic, meta, amazon, nvidia and much more! Next one in the fall, stay tuned! niki parmar

Way too much attention is being spent on this clown called Soham. If you are an incessant liar, it's not that hard to hold 10 full time jobs. It'd be impressive if he really aced them but he didn't. What's hard is to spend years & years solving incredibly hard problems at one

I've rarely seen a superior product best a superior distribution but grok vs chatgpt will be an interesting one to watch. Both have strong distribution though chatgpt has a far superior consumer brand that makes for a pull product vs a push.

Very interesting moves in the AI coding space. Few observations having watched many of these cos closely: - closer you are to the LLM layer, mostly routing calls at -ve GMs, the closer you are flying to the sun. - Real value is moving upstream - full e2e agentic flows, deep

When I joined GCP in 2013, they were at ~$200M ARR. Assuming AWS was 10x, the overall global cloud rev was still in $2-3B range 5-7yrs in. In AI, Anthropic at $4B ARR, OpenAI at $10B+, just a few years in! This wave is way, way more impactful and fast moving than anything prior!

Seriously congrats to the windsurf & cognition teams! A lot to learn for founders - see an opportunity, move lightning fast, no unnecessary legal T&Cs, straightfwd terms, do what makes most sense, both parties come away delighted by the txn, high likelihood of M&A sticking!

Grok4 was the first model that solved my standard go-to Q on reasoning models: "word ladder: earth to space". It does go deep into the diction to find obscure words & the model starts out with websearch to scrape for answers but eventually gets there correctly. Impressed!

Super interesting read on openAI's culture by Calvin French-Owen - these few passage showcase what it takes to ship code into the AI hurricane. Nothing on email, everything on slack; codex launched in ~7wk; midnight sprints, weekends. Leaders on deck 24x7. The sense of urgency is 🤯!

Integrations + fully cooked backends are the biggest roadblock to building working apps & most vibe coding platforms don't do a good job of it. Check out our portco Launch.Today that's built for people who are building working apps by just talking to the platform, now on PH!
