Yeah! Packed room for this monthโs @NIGMSTraining sponsored Molecular Biophysics Discussion Group presented by Liz Kellogg โ๏ธ๐ฌ Thanks to Betsy Goldsmith for inviting/hosting!

Today Valerie Ann Perez (Mentors: Diamond Lab at UT Southwestern JoachimiakLab) is defending her thesis in MolBiophysUTSW. These are great events, the culmination of lots of hard work.

Awww yeah! Nice work from MolBiophysUTSW faculty member @erzbergerlab, led by recently graduated MolBiophysUTSW student Kamil Sekulski.

We have a dissertation defense in MolBiophysUTSW today! Yang Liu (mentor: Xiaochun Li) will be telling us about his structural work on Wnt and Hedgehog signaling. Introduction underway!

Love to see this - Dominique Lagasca passing her quals, and Ari (Elisia) Paiz, MS showing the team spirit that makes MolBiophysUTSW and UTSW Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences special. Two thumbs up :-)

It is amazing and fun to see how MolBiophysUTSW graduates are finding success in their careers. Hereโs an example: cool new paper from program alumna Pelin Ayaz. Congrats Pelin! nature.com/articles/s4146โฆ

Congratulations to recently-defended MolBiophysUTSW student Yang Liu (mentor: Xiaochun Li), who represented our program in the annual Nominata Award competition. Yang won a Dean's Discretionary Award in recognition of his achievements. Way to go Yang!

Great to see another paper from an MolBiophysUTSW student. Congrats to all ๐

๐๐๐ In the "Alumni doing well" category, check out this awesome news about MolBiophysUTSW graduate Juan L. Mendoza - Freeman Hrabowkski Scholar HHMI. YOWSA! Way to go Juan, hopefully we can get you back for a visit before too long.

Dissertation defenses are the best! Today Dagimhiwat Legesse is presenting the work she did @RyanHibbs10 lab. Dagim has been a great presence in our program. Thanks and congratulations!
