These 2 species of Caribbean tree oysters have washed ashore attached to floating plastics on British and Irish beaches. I. radiatus is much prettier with its candy stripes and is a much rarer find.

#molluscmonday Cardiff Curator The most beautiful of all the rafting bivalves - Chama macerophylla. These beauties in Amgueddfa Cymru's collections are from Florida, but others have washed ashore in Britain and Ireland attached to ropes, crates and a buoy!
