Published today the collaborative research, led by OxPrimaryCareSci, has developed a new tool that more accurately predicts risk of cardiovascular diseases. Mona Bafadhel Richard Russell

New research has identified COPD as an independent risk factor for developing cardiovascular disease. This work, as Mona Bafadhel so rightly puts it, underscores the need for monitoring lung function as an independent predictor of mortality and respiratory hospital admissions.

Women with COPD in particular are at a higher risk of cardiovascular diseases than previously thought. It's now critical that we focus on diagnosing COPD earlier to mitigate that risk + to allow researchers to develop better treatments. Congrats to King's College London OxPrimaryCareSci

Day 2 of #BALR2024 kicks off early with Mona Bafadhel discussing exacerbations of COPD and asthma 🫁
