Very happy to share our latest publication. A partnership between the Mori lab and Alexander Bartelt - led by the super talented Henver Brunetta! Big thanks to all collaborators and funders, including Agência FAPESP for funding Henver's stay in the Bartelt lab 🥳

Thrilled to have been invited to give a talk at the 9th Internacional Cell Senescence Association (International Cell Senescence Association) Conference in Puerto Varas, Chile. Amazing meeting - great science, great people, in an incredible venue. Hope to be back next year in Rome

Cool paper from the Treebak lab showing how DICER is quickly downregulated in adipose tissue upon diet-induced obesity and in humans with obesity, representing a hallmark of metabolic dysfunction

One of the reasons why it is so difficult to maintain weight loss is because adipose issue retains an epigenetic memory of obesity after weight loss. nature.com/articles/s4158…

Groundbreaking discoveries revealing how obesity triggers epigenetic changes in adipose tissue, creating a 'memory' that makes maintaining a healthy weight after weight loss even more challenging

After we reach advanced age, around 80, the propensity to develop cancer is markedly reduced. A discovery reported nature today about aged stem cells and iron insufficiency may help explain this advantage nature.com/articles/d4158… Nature News & Views nature.com/articles/s4158…
