Yesterday, a group of Y2 children went to Lipson CA to take part in a multi skills event.  They tried various activities:  javelin, assault course, bowling, basketball and balancing. They were grateful to the teachers & Sports Ambassadors who made their afternoon enjoyable.

Year 5 were fortunate to be able to go to the Theatre Royal last week to watch and listen to the Welsh National Opera. Despite the pouring rain, this was a first for all of them; they thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Year 4 made their termly visit to Central Library today. Austin read us a Rudyard Kipling poem and then he had prepared a fabulous quiz about animal classification which linked really well to our learning. He finished with the fable of how the leopard got its spots.

El and Ash #CleanourPatch came in to talk about the importance of picking up litter and the damage it can cause to animals and plants. They donated a 'Clean Up' set and will be back in June to do another Community Litter Pick. We have our School Ambassador Certificate!

Year 5, as part of Mission Mammoth, organised by The Box, walked to Smeaton's Tower, met a real life civil engineer, designed a 'new' lighthouse for Plymouth, learnt about John Smeaton and the importance of the lighthouse , then had the chance to walk to the top. Great day!

Year 1 visited Plymouth University to be Junior Teddy Medics! We learnt about the heart, the skeleton, germs and what is in a doctor's bag. After, we helped our poorly teddies by bandaging them up. Back at school, we got our own teddy keyring to remind us of our amazing day!

To mark the end of a year supported by the National Literacy Trust promoting early reading in school, years 1,2 and 3 spent a fun-filled afternoon in Drake Circus celebrating all things reading - they even got to choose their own book to take home.

Year 6 conducted their own Remembrance Service this afternoon in our Sanctuary Garden with the rest of the school and parents watching on. They recited war poems before planting handmade poppies and observing a two minute silence.
