All of the longitudinal research into the diagnosis of additional needs would suggest that SEND is massively under-diagnosed. Leading with that undermines a number of accurate points here. We don’t have to paint in broad brush strokes like this.

SEND is *NOT* over-diagnosed. EHCPs are *NOT* given freely. SEND children are *NOT* being over-supported. The SEND crisis isn’t about over-use. It's about under-delivery. So why are education hardliners claiming the opposite? Let's take a look at the facts, and the fiction: 🧵
