Day 3 of Plymouth College #BattlefieldsTrip2024 continued with a visit to Poperinge visit the wonderful Tubby's Talbot House. In the midst of man’s inhumanity to man, the house reminds us of the good we can find in people even in the darkest of times. #LestWeForget

After visiting Langemark, Plymouth College #BattlefieldsTrip2024 headed to Vancouver Crossroads to commemorate the site of the first use of deadly poison gas in warfare. A moving tribute to the men who stood so bravely in the face of such barbaric weapons. #LestWeForget

The final visit on Plymouth College #BattlefieldTrip2024 was to Tyne Cot, the largest Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery in the world, where nearly 12,000 soldiers - including @OPMClub alumni - are commemorated. A demonstration of the scale of the suffering on the Western Front. #LestWeForget

As the sun sets on Plymouth College #BattlefieldsTrip2024 it’s a poignant moment to reflect on the futility of war and what lessons we can learn. #LestWeForget In the words of the Kohima Epitaph: ‘When you go home, tell them of us and say; for your tomorrow, we gave our today’

Great to be able to contribute to HMC (The Heads' Conference) blog this week on behalf of Plymouth College Sport | Plymouth College. At a time when the sector faces unprecedented challenges, not least VAT on fees, it is good to reflect on the contribution it also makes to elite sporting success.

In a week where we have choices to make about the future of our country, we must take time to reflect on those who gave use that right to choose. 108 years ago today - 07:30 on July 1st 1916 - the Battle of the Somme began. ‘There, but by the grace of God, go I.’ #LestWeForget
