Tonight, best EVER event at The Postal Museum: t’other Mail Rail train had a power fault & blocked station, so we returned to surface by evacuating using old Mount Pleasant sorting office platforms & tunnels! Absolute textbook procedure by crew: safe, calm, everyone delighted!👌

There is quite literally a disco train garden at Colwyn Bay station. Good work Conwy Valley & North Wales Coast CRP & Trafnidiaeth Cymru Trenau Transport for Wales Rail: up with this sort of thing!

I have been travelling since 0530, rerouted due to a sad incident at Tamworth, but thanks to Avanti West Coast & 2 buses & great staff I am now working on my laptop thru Aberglaslyn Pass behind 2 Garratt locos on Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways & my destination is near. Hurrah for public transport!🥰

At 7am today I had the privilege of riding Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways’s 40-wagon slate gravity train, demonstrating the pre-preservation-Ffestiniog. We had the rare thrill of being Fairlie-hauled all the way up to the edge of Blaenau’s slate quarries; then freewheeled down *9 miles* from Dduallt.

ENGINES: ASSEMBLE! We’ll be attempting a windswept livestream of the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways railway200 200 Wheels on the Cob Grand Cavalcade at 12:15 on my instagram - what could possibly go wrong?! 70 years of bonkers railway preservation celebrated in the top left hand corner of 🏴

We’re joining The National Lottery Heritage Fund in celebrating #HeritageIsOpen! Pendon Museum's scale model landscapes include historically accurate representations of real buildings in the Vale of White Horse as they were in the 1920s and 1930s. We're open this weekend! pendonmuseum.com

Good news from Yorkshire, where tracks have been relaid into Horton Limestone Quarry: the first loaded train left y'day! Well done all at Heidelberg Materials UK, GB Railfreight VolkerRail & Network Rail: more freight on the Settle-Carlisle: 129 fewer lorries on the road each time👌
