Today, MRCG completed the training of over 30 field data collectors for the Baseline Survey of the ‘Communication & Visibility for the European Union in Sierra Leone.’ These enumerators will be deployed across the country to collect information for the research. EU in Sierra Leone
Today, in #Makeni, MRCG consulted diverse regional stakeholders from different sectors across the north & northwest regions of Sierra Leone on the review of the #SLBC’s Act 2010. This is part of the European Union funded #MEDIA project 2ru BBC Media Action in Sierra Leone

Today, with support from EU in Sierra Leone through BBC Media Action, MRCG completes regional consultations with community media stakeholders and other local authorities on Community Media Ecosystem, with specific reference to Tax incentives, Indirect subsidies and waivers.
With support from Netherlands Embassy in Ghana, through Media Foundation for West Africa, MRCG completed a two-day Digital Literacy & Skills Training in Kenema, Sierra Leone. The 25 female journalists, bloggers & activists were introduced to online rights, women’s rights online issues, social media and privacy & more.

They learned the various TJ mechanisms, and how to report on them.

In Port Loko today for the north and northwest regions, THE MEDIA REFORM COORDINATING GROUP (MRCG-SL) with support from the Netherlands Embassy in Ghana trained another 25 female journalists and activists on digital rights, AI skills and women’s rights online issues.
Today, with support from Africa Transitional Justice Legacy Fund (ATJLF), MRCG trained another 26 reporters on reporting on Transitional Justice (TJ) issues in the Western Area. Totaling 66 across the country for this year, and 132 in two years. Again, 20 would be selected for a 6 months Fellowship.
