This group of @dishmanmcginnis 1st graders is FULL of smiles because they just took their first AR test in the Library and scored 100%!! I am loving their excitement & hoping that their love of reading is only beginning! 🤓📚💜

Sometimes being in Library means waiting your turn; often, I’ll let students draw or color if they’re waiting… I found this on the back of a 1st grader’s paper today. So I’m reminding myself to always look for the little things and celebrate those tiny moments! 😍🥹📚🫶🏼

This is so special. I’m blown away by the program Zach Simpson and Mr. Ballard have started in our school this year and its impact already. This was an awesome afternoon for everyone involved, I have no doubt! 💜

Library stations are finally in full swing for 4th & 5th grade @dishmanmcginnis! This is the latest in the year we’ve started stations, but it was worth the wait. A hit for both students and librarians! 😉📚

BLACK HISTORY MONTH: 5th graders at Dishman McGinnis have been researching influential African Americans, highlighting their lives, accomplishments, and impact. Now, students are proudly sharing their learning with posters and presentations.

5th graders presented their research over an influential African American & CER connection to a DM guideline for success. Some presentations were even translated into different languages! Thanks to @dishmanmcginnis teachers who brought their classes to view our hard work ❤️💛💚

Finished our first Demco StickTogether poster of the year! Although many different classes and students helped out, Austin and Isaiah were determined to finish it during their Library station time. On to the next! 🫡💜

We had an awesome afternoon w/ author Shawn Pryor! Our friends Warren County Public Library provided 3rd-5th grades w/ the chance to hear Shawn speak about his writing process & inspiration, based on stories he loves. His books will be flying off our library shelves this week, no doubt! 💜

So looking forward to a few days of sharing and learning!! 💜💛
