C14Q2 Every few days I like to start class with sharing good things. It can about a recent celebration or something small they achieved at home. #iisdkidsdeserveit

C15Q1 a statement that stood pout to me was the second bullet under administration. I don’t ever feel like admin gives up hope. I know they work extremely hard to do the right thing for all students and teachers. I appreciate our admin so much at AMS. #iisdkidsdeserveit

C15Q2 I just wish people knew that being a teacher is pretty much a 24 hours a day job. I see something that may work for a lesson somewhere, I’ll buy it. Or if I think of something for school in the middle of the night, I’ll get on my computer. #iisdkidsdeserveit

C16Q1 I have many favorite things about being a educator but a big one is when former students come back to visit me. #iisdkidsdeserveit

C17Q1 Giving each student an opportunity to express their feelings and thoughts about anything that involves classroom procedures, management, activities, etc.. Allowong all to be involved in decision making helps build a classroom community. #iisdkidsdeserveit

C18Q1 I have always enjoyed school and learning so becoming a teacher was the best decision for me as a career. I’m going 19 years strong and have no intentions of quitting or giving up. #iisdkidsdeserveit

C19Q1 I’m a former coach and whenever we lost a game a had so much doubt but then I look at statistics it is all about improving and not just winning. I would see the clear evidence of faster run times, more good serves, more shots made, etc...#iisdkidsdeserveit

C20Q1 Students do recognize our attitudes. The more excitement we show the more excited the kids are and the less chance there are behavior issues. I’ve noticed the less excited I am the more behavior issues I deal with so I always try to stay excited everyday. #iisdkidsdeserveit

C21Q1 one of my hobbies is participating in running races on weekends. After each race I do I bring my finisher medal to school that Monday and I let them wear it when they have something to share that they did over the weekend that they are passionate about. #iisdkidsdeserveit

C22Q1 Four years ago when our principal brought up that we would be getting iPads for students I saw several alien looks. Ever since we have had them I feel my experience as a teacher has gotten better with presenting lessons, activities, student engagement. #iisdkidsdeserveit

C23Q1 a battle that I faced is struggling with my last class period of the day. It has 37 students and mainly boys. I talked to a couple of my colleagues for help and they did not hesitate to come into my class and offered assistance which was amazing. #iisdkidsdeserveit

C24Q1 it is important to keep growing and learning to avoid burnout. Learning new techniques and strategies helps keep me motivated. I enjoy learning from my colleagues the most. #iisdkidsdeserveit

C25Q1 I like to recognize people by personally approaching them and letting them know how I appreciate them. I feel that going to see someone in person and letting them know how great they are really can make a persons day. #iisdkidsdeserveit

C26Q1 I disconnect by swimming, biking or running. I do not take my phone with me when im working out. While im working out I think of new things to implement into teaching which recharges me and avoids burnout. #iisdkidsdeserveit

C27Q1 Lessons should have both the meat and the glitter. But meat takes priority over the glitter. I first create the instruction presentation then I add some kind of glitter...Nearpod, stations, music,etc... Engagement works better than sit and get. #iisdkidsdeserveit

Julie Kaner (@mskanerams) 's Twitter Profile Photo

C27Q2. Glitter to me can be many things like virtual reality, game competitions, dressing up but definitely need to get the meaty stuff across before adding I the glitter then they are able to connect what they are learning to the fun stuff. #iisdkidsdeserveit

C28Q1 I like to read but I just don’t have a lot of free time. With my content being social studies I am able to read short stories, biographies, and articles that pertains to what we are currently learning. The students seem to like it when I reads to them. #iisdkidsdeserveit

C29Q1 I always try to keep parents involved in what we are doing. I always let parents know that my classroom door is always open. I try to incorporate activities where they will have to work with their parents at home in order to complete the assignment. #iisdkidsdeserveit
