What I’ve observed in these past few days is telling. In Kenya, a Somali barely in their teens is subjected to the same scrutiny and expectations as a Kenyan well into adulthood. This has always been the case.
Naturally, Ethiopia exploits Kenya’s anti-Somali sentiment to secure defense pacts because deep down, both know who the real existential threat is. If you can’t see the pattern by now, you’re not meant to.
